Not really. The Rush comparisons are just superficial. Triumph had very few prog elements in their style. They were closer to Boston or pre-Jonathan Cain Journey than they were to Rush.
I saw them live in the mid/late 80's and it was a great show. I'd certainly put "Magic Power", "Hold On" or "Fight the Good Fight" in my Canadian top 100. |

Re: The Top 100 Canadian Songs of all-time
I'm glad that Leonard Cohen made the list, but I'd put "Diamonds in the Mine" on the list before the others. He sings the shit out of that one.

DO YOU MIND IF WE TALK ABOUT BILL Re: The Top 100 Canadian Songs of all-time
I'm from Detroit and one of my favourite Canadian songs is DO YOU MIND IF TALK ABOUT A BILL.
I discovered the song while visiting Montreal a few years ago. The song is unique too. It's about a Canadian singer's sex change. I play the video often on youtube. Damn good song it is! |
Re: The Top 100 Canadian Songs of all-time
No Chantal Kreviazuk,Cowboy Junkies or Loreena McKennitt but room for Corey Hart and several Bryan Adams songs.
What is that aboot. |

Forward to the 1:20 mark to skip the crappy edited intro. Or almost anything by this band. Their videos were shit but the music was great. Especially their cover of Paint it Black. <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/NJwSEDE5x2I?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/NJwSEDE5x2I?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object> |

I don't think so. Canadians have got it right. |
