Summer of '69 is ranked far too high considering the rest of the competition. What . . . no Prism?

So my theory is true - every Canadian chronically overrates The Tragically Hip. Any band that says their band name in one of their own songs should GTFO.

Re: The Top 100 Canadian Songs of all-time

Plenty of changes I'd make on that list. Seems like this list is geared more towards the hit songs as opposed to the best songs.

Bryan Adams - Summer of '69 is way too high on the list (I wouldn't even have it on a top 100).

BTO, Men Without Hats, Cory Hart, Maestro Fresh Wes ? ugh

Blue Rodeo - shouldn't be on the list, nevermind being ahead of their much better "Lost Together"

Much better Tom Cochrane songs than "Life is a Highway". ie. White Hot.

The list is missing Saga:

yeah I was kind of surprised because the Ugly Ducklings- Nothin' somehow got on there. I was almost expecting the Haunted- 1-2-5 to be on there but it wasn't and I think it's easily a better song.

Re: The Top 100 Canadian Songs of all-time

For me personally the biggest omission is Matthew Good(Band). I woulda thought "Apparitions","Everything is Automatic" or maybe "The Future is X-Rated" would certainly be in any Canadian top songs list. Certainly would be on mine.

Happy to see Sloan on there a few times though

That reminds me of this classic, which used to run every night when stations went off air:

As for the list, it's one person's opinion, and I personally don't think much of it.

Almost every Tegan & Sara song is better than 1234. I never take lists seriously, but that they didn't even get one song on the list shows how criminally underappreciated they are.

Wilco are definitely among the most overrated bands in history.
