Blind Musical Taste Test #8 - Hard Rock

Several of you may recognize this song, but a lot of you won't (the album is a bit obscure).

Again, if you know who it is please don't post it. I'll put a spoiler on the tag at the end of the thread after a few days.

Make sure to listen to it at the 720p setting (the sound quality is noticeably better that way).

Thoughts?

It sounds like this band really wants to be Tool.

Spoiler:
Definitely Carnival of Souls era KISS. It's Jungle. And I think KISS should have stopped without the makeup.

Cool song. I like the guitar and bass riffs. Love the vocals (if I'm wrong about who that singer is I may have to eat someone's hat). The song does wear out its welcome in the last couple of minutes, though.

Even without seeing this spoiler, it's pretty obvious from the vocals who this is.

Erik, I know this is from one of your favorite albums, particular from this band, but it's still my least favorite of theirs. Props for your continued belief in it though, even if we don't agree.

First 25 seconds are pretty generic. It's the type of rock you might expect to be the background music on a cooking/travel show (complete with sped-up video as the host enters the biker bar famous for its chili).

I didn't care to listen past that.

Well, yeah that's pretty unmistakeable. I'm not really a fan of the band's music, but my two oldest kids are.
Spoiler:
And if you weren't interested in KISS at some point in your childhood, you were likely raised by your mother.
I can't deny its long-lasting appeal although I don't fully understand it. I like the basic groove to this song and even the noodly bits don't really wear out their welcome too much. I'm going to see if the kids want to give the album a try.
Spoiler:
Given the assumptions I heard at record shows when this was widely booted - that it was a last gasp from this lineup and the failure of these sessions is what led to the reunion - this isn't all that bad.

I was interested until the vocals, not a fan.

Now knowing who it is, I never would have guessed 'em.

That's one of the 3 or 4 songs I liked on that CD. There's a nice groove to it and the singer's voice works well with the overall vibe of the song.
