SOUNDGARDEN: "Telephantasm" -9/28/10

Soundgarden's recent reunion will come full circle with "Telephantasm," the rock group's first release in 14 years, due out Sept. 28 on A&M/UMe. The retrospective album will feature the band's hits, previously released obscurities and "Black Rain," a never-before-heard track from the "Badmotorfinger" recording sessions.

Soundgarden has also announced a partnership with Activision Publishing that will see "Telphantasm" exclusively released and bundled with 1 million copies of "Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock" on Sept. 28. The album will also be immediately available as downloadable content for the game before being released at retail stores and on the band's website on Oct. 5. Additionally, three expanded versions of "Telephantasm" will be issued on Sept. 28, including the band's first-ever DVD with 13 previously unreleased videos.

Exactly. Hey we're creatively spent but buy this album of songs you already have so we can cash in on the reunion.

Didn't Soundgarden already release a Greatest Hits/Compilation in "A-Sides"?

Didn't they only reunite back in like April though? Maybe they're working on something that they haven't mentioned yet and are just releasing this in the mean time to introduce to new fans. I'll probably get it if its cheap enough since I don't mind having greatest hits albums to bring with in the car sometimes when I don't want to bring a whole bunch of albums.

Really wish this was a collection of their B-sides. There's more than enough of those sitting around to make a full release.

I don't think most of those songs were "hits" though. Many of them are pretty great though, like "Fopp", "Beyond The Wheel", and "Big Dumb Sex". Easily among their best songs, but not "hits".

yes. If it had all of those songs and then some, i'd easily rebuy, cause the sound isn't the greatest on that one imo

This is probably one of the worst CD covers I've ever seen.

Yeah, just plain stupid.

IMO, they should've released the Vic recording instead. Video preferred.
