Re: Massive Attack: "Heligoland" Feb. 2010
I've been listening to it for a few days now. It doesn't totally feel like a Massive Attack album because of all the guest vocalists, feels more like a project like UNKLE.
Pitchfork hated it but I like it, even more than 100th window. It doesn't blow me away but I think I will come back to it frequently enough, much like the new Air album.
The Hope Sandoval track Paradise Circus I think is my favorite.

I agree with Paradise Circus. Great song.
It is more a continuation of 100th Window, the darker electronic direction. I do wonder what they would sound like if they kept with their hip hop styles like Mushroom wanted. But overall, this will be a keeper in the playlist for a while.

Just started listening to this album on Spotify. It's pretty great. I was also a fan of 100th Window.

Looking forward to hearing this. I was very disappointed with 100th Window and the EP that came out at the end of '09 wasn't all that great... except for "Splitting The Atom". I LOVE this tune!
edit: Finally listened to this and I think it's a very good recording. Certainly better than the last one.
