Well wonder no more. Die Antwoord has been getting a tremendous amount of attention on the Internet just lately. I suspect most of the attention has much more to do with their being pretty unusual rather than musical merit. Warning, videos contain lots of profanity.
While this does, at first take, have a strong air of Internet-train-wreck/random, I think this actually is pretty cleverly-crafted PR. The slow mo girl (the age of which I have no idea) watching his dancing junk in the Dark Side of the Moon boxer shorts is hilarious.

LOL! Nice, most likely unauthorized sample of Bronski Beat's "Hit that Perfect Beat"...

"He owns a PC computer". LOL! That's some new age shit right there. Ali G. needs to head down there and hit them up for a real interview.

Well, after doing some research this seems to be done by some comedy team called "Max Normal". It is still rather creative and I'm looking forward to hearing the rest of the album. It did seem a bit too far out there to be true but you never know with some of the idiots in the world. And it seems that he and the girl have been married for awhile so I guess you don't have to feel weird if you have an attraction to her.

I was going to make a "District 9" joke, but theres a very recent live video where the guy actually raps about Wikus.

We were trying to decide if this was fucking awful or fucking genius the other day. I'm leaning towards genius.

I can't say I'd buy their stuff, but I do think the beats sound pretty good.
EDIT: I'm checking out their stuff on youtube and it's damn catchy.

For those of you who are still deeply concerned about this being another Limp Bizkit or Vanilla Ice caliber group, here's some light reading for you:

Yes, but other points are important regarding the Beastie Boys' popularity:
1. They were talented and funny. I don't see that from this group.
2. They are white, and that was a very rare/novel thing at the time. Now? Not so much. You can't swing a dead cat without hitting a handful of white-wanna-be-rappers.
3. The Beasties nearly disappeared from the map (for me, anyway) when they decided to try to be taken seriously as "artists".

This is totally meant to be a joke, but because these guys are actual artists and think outside of the box, they've inadvertantly created something different and kind of cool.

Album out October 12th:
from pitchfork:
Die Antwoord, the greatest South African internet meme prankster rave-rappers in history, updated their website today. It features an amazeballs photo (see above) and a countdown.
Well, it turns out that the photo is in fact the cover of the Die Antwoord album, $0$, to be released on Cherrytree/Interscope. And the countdown is leading up to the release date: October 12. The Cherrytree/Interscope $0$ is a reworked version of the same album that was originally available on Die Antwoord's website earlier this year. Check out the tracklist below.
$0$:
01 In Your Face
02 Enter the Ninja
03 Wat Kyk Jy?
04 Evil Boy
05 Rich Bitch
06 Fish Paste
07 $copie
08 Beat Boy
09 She Makes Me a Killer
10 Doos Dronk
11 Hidden Track
Check out that cover.
