Kruder & Dorfmeister - 'G Stone Book'

Cash - 'American V - A Hundred Highways'

The 'If You Could Read My Mind' on this is mind boggling.

The Very Best's Warm Heart of Africa is now being played for the fourth time in a row. Damn this album is good.

Echo & The Bunnymen : Crocodiles, Heaven Up Here, Porcupine, Ocean Rain

I love these first four albums so much. One thing I've often wondered - if I've got the original CD issues and the box set, is there any reason to pick up the Rhino remasters/expansions?

After the first three tracks, which are genuinely fantastic, I really can't stand listening to that new Raveonettes disc. No idea what happened, but it's absolutely embarassing compared to what they've done in the past.

Brian Eno - Discreet Music
Brian Eno - Before and After Science
Brian Eno & John Cale - Wrong Way Up
Falcao and Monashee - self-titled (this'll be a big favorite for me come the end of the year)
Matthew Good - Vancouver
Sally Shapiro - Remix Romance, Vol. 1
V.V. Brown - Travelling Like the Light
Hunx & His Punx - Gay Singles

Baroness - Blue Record

A little different than the Red Album, but still amazing. Possibly album of the year for me. This is going to be on heavy repeat for the next week or two. Also, that's the best album cover I've seen in years.

You may already know, but John Baizley also plays in Baroness and has done artwork for several other bands, too.

How is this? I have the "Teardrops On My Telephone" 7" which is decent. I was a huge Gravy Train!!!! fan back in the day but kind of fell off around the time of that terrible third record.

Today it is:

Duran Duran : Rio [Deluxe Edition]

I can't believe it's finally here after months of delays. The packaging is lovely and I'm just about to put it on.

I did know that, but I'd never seen all the artwork he's done for other bands, so thanks!

Still my favorite album by the band. Full of great songs beginning to end. Personally, I can't say the same thing about Dog Problems, or Nate Ruess's new project, Fun! (even though those are both still good).

Dog Problems is IMO Nate's masterpiece & best album by far. I find I & L to be too formulaic. the Fun album is like Dog Problems but without the band limiting him, so you can really see Nates vision.

I knew you would say that, but that's a good thing. I think I like I & L because it's more immediate, and super catchy. I can throw it on any time any get into it.

With the other two, I have to be more in a mood to want to listen to them. I don't think either of them are bad albums, just that they require a bit more of your attention to truly appreciate them.

I definitely agree that Nate, be it The Format or Fun, has not put out anything close to a bad album.

What little music I've listened to today has been entirely . . .
