Dylan and the Stones. I hate Pink Floyd. Their only meaningful contribution to rock music was in bringing together the Sex Pistols.

Beatles & Stones. Pink Floyd's music is incredibly boring to me, for the most part. (Not when I was 13 though).

Beatles
Floyd
Anyone who thinks Floyd's music is boring is worse than Pol Pot, or they've never heard anything beyond "The Wall" and "Dark Side of the Moon".

Looking back at Dylan's competition in the other brackets (Springsteen/Marvin Gaye/The Doors) I guess I'm not so surprised.
But I've always seen Dylan as a critic's favorite, and I expected Zeppelin, The Who or Metallica to be here.

The Beatles vs. Bob Dylan - I have more appreciation for Dylan as a songwriter than as an artist, but I also have more appreciation for him as a songwriter than I have for the opposition altogether.
The Rolling Stones vs. Pink Floyd - I didn't know until two years ago, but apparently my uncle was a big Stones fan. He drowned before I was even born, and I've heard over the years that my personality and interests run very closely to his. I suppose this is just more evidence, 'cause I'll take the Stones over Floyd. The Stones are odd, because it seems like each time I hear one of their overplayed songs, instead of losing interest it takes a stronger hold of me. I can't say why that is, but I've gone through periods of being addicted to "Paint It, Black."
