bands with unreleased material you'd like to hear
Who are some bands with unreleased material that you would like to hear? I mean songs that you know exist but have never been released at all (could be alternate versions or just completely unreleased material) I know lots of stuff has cropped up on bootlegs, but even then there isn't everything that is in the vaults.
Here's some of my thoughts:
Easybeats- lots of unreleased material especially from the early days. I've read a list which had a ton of songs I never even heard of.
AC/DC Bon Scott years- with Bonfire a few of these songs came out but there's still several things that didn't. Stuff like this: http://www.crabsodyinblue.com/acdcimarebel.htm
Fillmore- I'm led to believe that a number of fillmore shows were recorded in the 60s and are still in the vaults. I would like to hear a great quality yardbirds show or many others in particular.

Even though I was immensly satisfied with Danzig's "Lost Tracks" set, I know there's still plenty of gold left to mine from some of their recording sessions. I hope there's a Vol. 2 set for sometime down the line.

Anything by Pearl Jam....it is well known that they have extra unreleased songs that haven't ever been leaked on bootlegs...you can even clearly see some of them on the inside cover of the Lost Dogs compilation!
Supposedly Axl Rose has a lot more songs recorded from the past 15 years of working on Chinese Democracy....I'll believe it when I see (or hear) it though....I know many people hated that album and anything "new" GNR, but I am still a fan and want to hear what else he's cooked up....
Obviously a collection of unreleased Michael Jackson would sell like hotcakes at the moment...

the second album from the British group Straw - only a four song single was released as their swan song 'Sailing of the Edge of the World' (how appropriate and unfortunate, since it was an epic gorgeous song).

Oingo Boingo. They could fill a box set plus with their unreleased stuff!
Also; Peter Gabriel. I heard once that he had a ton more material for "Up" than was released.

Off the top of my head, the third JJ72 album that was recorded and mastered but the record company refused to release until they had a Top 20 single [I think it was...], so the band broke up. It's out there somewhere...

Prince has a pretty legendary "vault" of unreleased material.

Juliana Hatfield - God's Foot. Some of the songs got re-recorded and released elsewhere, but it's a shame this album never saw the light of day.
Also Tori Amos and Michael Stipe recorded a song together for some soundtrack. The song wasn't used and was never released. I've always wanted to hear it.

I don't want to hear anymore of it but I want to know how much more unreleased material Tupac has. I mean seriously the dude can't be dead. Look at how many friggin albums that have come out in the past 13 years.

Van Halen. According to Eddie Van Halen he has tons of unreleased songs. Also, there are several songs from the David Lee Roth era that never made it into their records.

Beck has done several songs with P. Diddy, but P. Diddy refused to release them. This was around the time of Odelay.

I would be interested in hearing some of the songs R.E.M. did for Monster. Supossedly, they recorded over 50. If Weezer has an unreleased 2nd record, I would be all ears for that as well.

why don't the bands release some low quality versions for free on the websites and then see what the fans like and make higher quality versions for an official release?

The biggest would probably be the second Buckingham/Nicks disc...

Whatever happened to the Hendrix/Stills album that was unearthed last year?
I'd love to hear that.
Also I'd be interested to hear some of the stuff from Michael Jackson's vaults that got mentioned around the time of his death. Given his popularity I'd bet it's likely that it gets released in the somewhat near future.

Songs From the Black Hole by Weezer would be interesting to hear even though some of the material for it has now been released on Rivers Cuomo's Alone discs.

Led Zeppelin's Black Album. Kidding
The Stones are notorious for recording 2-3 albums worth of material for each album. Some has shown up on later LPs and a lot is on bootlegs. They are often asked about releasing the stuff but have no interest in doing so. Almost like they don't "get" or understand this trend of everybody putting out their studio leftovers.

And the obvious answer to the OP's question is Prince.

I'd like to hear any 1989-1996 unreleased Smashing Pumpkins stuff.
I'm hoping there is more out there than the demo stuff I have found on the web.
