There's this awesome indie band called Puerto Muerto that is a husband and wife team and they sing their songs together. Very offbeat, very unique. Check out their first album, "...Your Bloated Corpse Has Washed Ashore."

Speaking of husband and wife bands...Mates of State. Saw them at Lollapalooza a few years ago and they were brilliant.

I still think several people aren't fully grasping the concept. And since we're obviously not having the discussion I intended to have with this thread, I'm deserting this one. Have fun.

More than just a couple...he shared lead with Layne as early as "Would"....
I meant to mention this one earlier as well....unfortunately as Layne got further into his drug addiction, Jerry had to step up to the mike and contribute more vocals as the band went on....it was to the point where he was almost a co-lead singer on their "Tripod"/self titled album....

So oblivious when people don't read the prior posts. There are at least five artists on this page alone that have already been mentioned.

Re: Bands with multiple lead vocalists

Aerosmith - It's only a small handful of songs, but Joe Perry has done lead vocals on several tracks, though it's only been one track on an album, and not every album.

KISS is interesting in the fact that not only did all the original members sing, most of their replacements have as well. Eric Carr had Little Caesar, and his own version of Beth. Eric Singer took over Black Diamond on KISS' recent rerecorded classics album. Bruce Kulick took lead on I Walk Alone. Tommy Thayer has been singing Shock Me in concert and is supposedly going to sing lead on the next album. That would leave Vinnie Vincent and Mark St. John as the only official members to not sing.

Ted Nugent had himself and Derek St. Holmes sing lead, and when St. Holmes left, a pre-Bat Out Of Hell Meat Loaf was brought in to do some lead work on the Free-For-All album.

10cc had 4 guys that could write and sing.

Re: Bands with multiple lead vocalists

I'm amazed no one mentioned Three Dog Night, although they mostly did other people's songs.

Re: Bands with multiple lead vocalists

They Might Be Giants - The band's two main members, John Linnell and John Flansburgh, share songwriting and lead singing duties. However, they've also had songs with guest lead vocalists.

The New Pornographers - Lead vocals by A.C. Newman, Neko Case, and Dan Bejar.

The Presidents of the United States of America - Chris Ballew wrote and had lead vocals on all their hits, but their album "Freaked Out and Small" had two songs written and sung by Dave Dederer.

The Red Elvises - Lead vocals by Igor Yuzov, Zhenya Rock, and Oleg Bernov.

Re: Bands with multiple lead vocalists

When Nick Oliveri was with Queens of The Stone Age he sang lead on some tracks. Mark Lanegan from Screaming Trees also sang lead on a few as well.

Sorry, I didn't see any really strict guidelines in your original post, so I stretched it a bit with some of the bands I mentioned.
