I wonder if this is a situation like the Rhino Punk Boxed Set that didn't include any Sex Pistols tracks because Lydon wouldn't give them permission.

More than likely Blur and Oasis didn't feel the need to give their permission for this. Also I'm shocked that the one Suede song isn't from their first two albums. That's just poor.

or the vastly underrated band Witness and their album: 'Before the Calm', who have been called the UK's R.E.M.

Personally, I'm not sure who they're aiming at with this release... If you're going for nostalgia value, we all pretty much have anything we would want on this one. If you're trying to pull the new kids in, they want their downloads not a 3 CD set.
And I'm not exactly sure some of whats on it would count as Britpop in the strictest sense of the word anyways...
Oh well.

Yet the Seahorses made it - John Squire's band after the Stone Roses. And I guess while on the subject, no Ian Brown songs. He's had a few amazing tracks.
Still looks like a decent tracklist. Other than a few of the obvious omissions, I'd be hard-pressed to come up with a more varied list.
