Montauk, The Moment Lasts a Second, but the Memory Lives On Forever
Light Under Water, Reflective Landscapes of Nowhere
Alva Noto & Ryuichi Sakamoto, Vrioon
The Montauk album, in particular, is phenominal and the last three tracks in succession comprise fifteen of the most affecting, gorgeous minutes of music I've heard in some time.

Sir Richard Bishop, The Freak of Araby (phenominal! listen to "The Pilars of Baalbek")
Henrik Schwarz, Âme, and Dixon, The Grandfather Paradox (great minimal electronic mix; listen to Liquid Liquid's "Lock Groove")

Re: What Are You Listening To? (April 2009 Edition)
I recently discovered The Felice Brothers. My first introduction was
Tonight at the Arizona
This is a fantastic album. The comparisons to Dylan and The Band are probably overused--you'll see them in every review--but they're right on.
I also picked up The Felice Brothers
and their latest album Yonder Is The Clock
I'm still digesting Yonder and Felice, but I've already fallen in love with Tonight at the Arizona.

Friendly Fires
(this is a new favorite...I LOVE this album. Giles, I see you have brought it up several times in the last year. Luckily, I got into them within the month leading up to Coachella, and was in heaven during their entire performance there!)
Filthy Dukes - Nonsense in the Dark
Tiga - Ciao!

I finally saw Lucero in concert for the first time last night, and now fully understand why everyone says that the studio albums just don't capture the band's energy. What a blast!

Penn( of Penn & Teller) has been tweeting about listening to nothing but that album constantly, all week. He's like a one man ad campaign for it.
I think I'm gonna get it today.
EDIT: This is pretty awesome stuff, the music. Listening to the 'radio hour' thing now.

I'll probably pick up the new Dylan, but my problem with Dylan is I picked up Love and Theft and listened to it once then went back to Blood on the Tracks and Blonde on Blonde and Highway 61 and listened to those over and over, and then a few years later I picked up Modern Times and listened to it once then went back to Blood on the Tracks and Blonde on Blonde and Highway 61 and listened to those over and over. I'm sure Together Through Life is great, but I'm sure if I pick it up, I'll listen to it once and listened to it once then go back to Blood on the Tracks and Blonde on Blonde and Highway 61 and listened to those over and over
