Just got back from it. Looks like same setlist as Anaheim (if they're going to record every show and put them up for sale, they should at least vary the setlist ala Metallica). But it was funner than hell though. Had a blast. Halfway through the set I forgot there were imposters in the band! It was that good!

Weird moment: the only person out of 10,000 that I knew there happened to have tickets right next to mine!

Yeah, that was a GREAT show. KISS lived up to their reputation and then some. They delivered exactly what they said they would - a fun, escapist Rock and Roll spectacle!

just got back from the san diego show and let me tell you it was bad ass! with the make up and without.. and this show totally blew those away.. i wanted to buy the live cd of the show but i didn't have enough cash and they didn't take plastic.. i ended up getting a shirt in the parking lot for five bucks.

I think every track well over well in Anaheim, but Tommy has NO RIGHT playing "Shock Me". They need to drop that one asap. I had a scowl on my face the entire song.

Glad you guys had fun and I do agree that Shock Me should be retired. I still wish they played Say Yeah for the show I attended.

Tuesday!!! Apparently I'm taking my 9 year old niece with me because everyone else I know has a life. Which is fine. I get this feeling that neither she nor I will shut up about it for weeks. LOL

I got no problem with Tommy, but I agree he shouldn't be doing "Shock Me". It's one thing to be wearing Ace's makeup design/costume, but it's another thing entirely to be singing a signature Ace song. That would be like Eric Singer doing "Beth". (And yes, even the late Eric Carr despised re-doing it for the Smashes, Thrashes & Hits album. He always thought it was a big mistake.)

They should have Tommy doing "When Lightning Strikes" instead, especially since it's one of the best songs on Sonic Boom.

Say Yeah is the second single to be released. Also word is that a WalMart commercial has been filmed. MAYBE they will finally get some advertising for this thing.

I'm wondering if significant promotion is being reserved specifically for the European and/or South American markets. The NA tour is wrapping up and they just release a video now? Especially in light of the severely lackluster and unenthusiastic effort on Wal-Mart's part.

If it were 1978 that would have been bad. In 2009, with an aging band that knows just how crazy it is that four guys ranging in age from 49 to 60 are still doing this kind of thing successfully (and doing it well), this shows a necessary sense of humor.

I mean, it would be sad if they tried to come across as the badass guys that they tried to come across as 30+ years ago.
