Some albums really are a revelation, and the multichannel mixes can add an entirely new dimension to them, like Keane's Hopes and Fears.Originally Posted by hdtv00

It has been a couple of years since my last SACD purchase, and I have several OOP discs purchased at retail price that now go for ridiculous amounts on Amazon and eBay (Allison Krauss and Bruce Cockburn among them). I don't spin any of them as often as I should.

I can't even imagine. My wife gives me shit pretty regularly for backing up all of our digital music onto a server, and then backing that up onto DLT, but I'm not willing to take any chances.Originally Posted by Cosmic Bus

That's a nice trio of albums for sure. Care for any other recommendations?

I finally got a copy of the Memories of Murder soundtrack. Track 29 (which plays over the closing credits) still haunts me.

I have heard from multiple sources that New York Town was a return to form for Black 47. Trouble In The Land was the beginning of the end as far as I was concerned, and the snippets I've heard from Iraq only reinforced that position, but I want to believe that they can pull it together once more.
Nope. Same shit, different disc. I listened to Fire of Freedom, which I had not spun for quite some time, immediately afterwards just to make sure they didn't suck all along, and it remains as fun and raucous as ever. I'm not sure what happened to them, but I no longer have interest in anything post-Green Suede Shoes.

For 3 straight days the only music I've been listening to has gloriously been . . .

Only took over 10 years for this to finally come out, but it's so worth it.

Hush is a complete dud, in my opinion. They've stripped away anything that made the band interesting and enjoyable in the first place.Originally Posted by printerati

That's a shame. I haven't read a thing about it, and I didn't bother with the Me & Mary single that eMusic offers because they will have the full album available on release date. I'm still going to download it, but my excitement is a bit tempered now.Originally Posted by Cosmic Bus

Today's soundtrack. . .
My 2nd favorite album of the year so far, (of coarse, it is one of my favorite artists, so that helps)

That Madeleine Peyroux album is great. I'm currently listening to what I consider the best electronic music album since DJ Kicks: Erlend Øye:

Paul Kalkbrenner's Berlin Calling. I don't know what genre you'd call it but it is compulsively listenable.

I was never big on this one, but I've been listening to it a fair bit lately and it's a lot stronger than I ever gave it credit for.Originally Posted by DJLinus

That said, I've been digging into the Elbow b-side collection this week. So goood.
