Where to buy a gamelan?
Hey everyone,
I'm involved in a musical venture and I've been casting about for an instrument to bring to the table. Tonight at dinner my friend mentioned that his new girlfriend played the gamelan, which reminded me of how amazing those sound, and think it would be perfect for my project. Now my big problem is trying to find one. I found two on ebay, each with $250 shipping, so that's out. I also tried Craig's List and didn't find much of anything. I know it's kind of an obscure instrument, but I'm in Los Angeles, so I should be able to find one. Does anyone have any ideas of where I could get one either online or in Los Angeles?
Thanks!

Looking it up it appears that gamelan does refer to a group of instruments. But I had also heard of the xylophone used in those ensembles referred to as a gamelan.
