Anyone else attending the Chicago opening weekend? I will be flying in, seeing Cubs game on Friday, U2 Sat/Sun, and homeward bound on Tues!

Re: U2: No Line on the Horizon - March 3rd, 2009
Sadly I won't be able to go this time around due to school commitments. I'm hoping they come around for a second leg in North America as they've done the past two tours.

Re: U2: No Line on the Horizon - March 3rd, 2009
I heard someone on the radio mention it was unlikely they'd be doing another North American leg for this tour, since they were going to focus their efforts abroad and then take a break... but that person might not have known what they were talking about. Seeing U2 on the 17th, can't wait.

I have heard next summer for leg two. I would bet heavy on the fact that they will be back. One show in all of California? Nothing in PacNorthWest? There is another leg coming for sure.

Don't they have a new album ready to release next year? I imagine the next tour will be for that album.
Oh yeah, for those who missed it, it was announced that U2 will be on the season premiere of SNL on September 26th. |

I'm still debating bringing my video camera, which is quite small --- about the size of a soda can. U2 have added a section to their Web site for fan-shot videos from their concerts, so you'd think they're OK with this sort of thing, but I don't want to get to the gate and find out security has a different opinion. |

U2 To Sell Five Versions Of New Album - One With Almost $100 List Price Amazon.com listings show formats ranging from standard CD to full Box Set @U2, December 19, 2008 Matt McGee U2 will release five different versions of their next album, No Line On The Horizon, with one version carrying a list price of almost $100 (USD). That's according to product listings on Amazon.com tonight. All five are listed with a March 3, 2009, release date. Officially, U2 has only announced the album's name and release date; no details have been shared about different formats. Earlier this year, though, manager Paul McGuinness hinted to BBC radio that the new album's release would be unique: "We will obviously work with whatever technology is available to make the release of the new record as interesting as possible." The first two formats on Amazon.com are standard CD and vinyl releases: Audio CD ($13.98 list price) Vinyl (2 LP) ($17.98 list price) There are also three "limited editions" listed, each with unique bonus material: Digi-pack version (CD/Poster/Film Download) ($35.98 list price) Magazine version (CD/Magazine/Film Download) ($49.98 list price) Box Set version (CD/Poster/Book/DVD) ($95.98 list price) None of the individual product pages provides any more information than what's in the name of the product. Amazon UK also lists five versions of No Line On The Horizon, but the product descriptions aren't as detailed; one listing, though, does refer to a "Hardback Book" -- likely the same item in the "Box Set" listed on Amazon.com. |
