Have anybody heard their debut album? It already got some great reviews by Rolling Stone, Spin and NWE.
It's Fabrizio Moretti's new band/side project, you can listen to the whole album on their myspace page...
I already new Rodrigo Amarante's work from Los Hermanos (brazilian indie rock band) and from the stuff he did with Devendra Banhart. What's really funny is that I never realized how much he sounded like Julian Casablanca until he made an album with his (casablanca's) drummer.
Their music got a really laid-back, it's-always-summer-kinda-vibe, very different from The Strokes, some accoustic, bossa nova and jazzy influences too. A couple of tunes sounds like The Strokes, though.
The album is just half an hour long, so it's hard to get tired of it even after multiple listennigs. I highly recommend it.
PS: I'm not even a big fan of The Strokes, I thought their debut was awesome back then, but that's about it.
