My ex-girlfriend introduced me to this band this morning:

I really dig the song 25 Days:
I get a text from you, saying you’re off to Havanna airport as we speak.
I start brushing my teeth.
Ten minutes later: “Sorry I mixed up the days.”
YOU STUPID FUCK,
YOU STUPID FUCK,
You stupid fuck, you need to come back.
Oh.
I’m at Arlanda airport with a famous flower in my hand waiting for you.
I see the doors opening, I see the passengers pouring out fresh like gingerbread cookies and wearing what appears to be new, funky hats, I see from a distance it’s someone I know well you’re approaching, I can see it, I take a step forward.
There's something about the song, as "cheesy" as the lyrics get towards the end (as seen above), that I just really like. I think it's more the melody than anything else.

listened to the debut GlasVegas album which has had positive acolades from the British press... well...hmmm.... it didn't wow me... it was okay, but not as great as the press has made them out to be. Half the times the lyrics are so buried in the music, I had no idea what they were singing and to hear that their shows are sing alongs ... that I find just baffling. The response and fan appeal is akin to the Arctic Monkeys IMO - if this is truly what the future of British music is, it doesn't impress me in the slightest.

Numanoid, thanks for the info.
I'm interested in checking out some of these albums.

Salad Days is probably one of those albums that most people haven't heard that they should be hearing. One Amazon user called it a mix between The Beatles and The Velvet Underground.

Easily Mates of State's best album by a long shot (their most recent effort, Re-Arrange Us, would rank second).

A great follow-up to their debut album that will probably never see the light of day in the US for a while.
