I'd love to do the four nights at Red Rocks, but I have to draw the line somewhere. Stupid responsibilities.

Wow, I'm surprised, I was at 2 or 3 of the nights at Red Rocks when they played 4 nights in '96, then they got banned after that because of all of the illegal camping and I think there was also a small riot. Anyway, glad to see Red Rocks is lifting the ban, I will definitely have to make it to a couple of those shows. I guess Red Rocks just saw the dollars that are going to come in.

Jethro Tull had a riot at Red Rocks back in the day, causing rock to be banned for some time. Tull just came back this/last year for the first show since.

I put in for the Gorge. Those are the only shows this summer that I have any chance of making.

Rolling Stone has a pretty great article about Hampton in the newest issue. Very candid about reasons for the break-up after Coventry (Trey was abusing drugs) and the rest of the band's bitterness (particularly Fishman's) following the break-up, mostly because Trey said he needed to get off the road and back to his family to get clean. Then, he proceeded to tour and record with his solo band until he cleaned up.

I did like Trey's quotes about how his community service was partially served at a state fair. He was doing the menial jobs it took to put on a festival...parking cars, scrubbing toilets, cleaning up trash. He sent a message to Fish..."If anyone ever hears me complain about playing 'You Enjoy Myself', they need to smack me. I have now done every job it takes to put on a Phish festival, and playing guitar is by far the best part."

Fish on Hampton: "Our band had driven itself into a ditch. We needed to establish credibility among people again." Well, they succeeded. I'm more excited for this band than I've been since Big Cypress...

I honestly have no idea. Someone on Phantasy Tour posted scans of the article.

I also put in for the Red Rocks shows. The request period is over, and we're supposed to find out by midnight tomorrow. How long did it take to get back to request-ers for the NJ shows?

put in for 9 shows and ended up with 2 lawn tickets for hartford. unreal. i'd rather get nothing at that point, because now i have 2 overpriced lawn tickets that i won't use and will need to get rid of.

Only put in for the Gorge...got nothing.

I hate Phish's pre-order process. I know it'll never happen but I wish they'd bring Phish Tickets-by-Mail back.

Re: So, um... Phish is back

So tried the public onsale for Red Rocks and no dice, this system really sucks, the government needs to look into how ticket master's aftermarket seller gets all of the tickets to sell at 3 times the price. Has there ever been an investigation of TM, it seems like the government should've looked into this monopoly already?

Did you get them just going through the regular TM public onsale process? Just curious as I and I know many other friends that all tried on multiple computers and got stiffed.

I hit the lottery myself. Although apparently if you live West of the Mississippi it was really easy to pull them from outlets.

Lottery from the pre-sale? Also, outlets meaning the physical box office locations?

Phish just announced that they're playing Fenway Park on 5/31. I may just need to plan a trip to Boston...

Should be easier at least, with a capacity of over 30,000.

I think, for concerts, that Fenway is between 35,000 to 40,000.

this is very tempting, I may put in for tickets and if I get them i'll go.

I think it's more like 35, not sure though.

I'm sure it will sell out, but hopefully it will take a few hours rather than a few minutes.

Has anyone else downloaded "Time Turns Elastic" from iTunes? I like it, particularly the last 3 or so minutes. It will be interesting to see if Trey will be able to remember 10 minutes worth of lyrics when they play this live.

Went to Camden the other night. Had to go alone but they put on one hell of a show- much better then when they were there in 04. The crowd seemed a lot less shady (though I didn't make it to shakedown) Hope everyone has fun this tour and stays safe. They are back. Only a few days till Dave in Saratoga can't wait.

Yep. He came out and did "Mustang Sally," "Bobby Jean," and "Glory Days."

I've downloaded each show of the tour so far and must say that they've got the strongest batch of new songs they've had since the Billy Breathes tracks debuted. "Kill Devil Falls" might end up as one of my favorite Phish songs, period. "Backwards Down the Number Line," "Stealing Time from the Faulty Plan," "Time Turns Elastic," "Ocelot," and "Sugar Shack" are pretty great as well.

Re: So, um... Phish is back

saw 3 shows in the past week, Camden and both Bonnaroo. I'm so glad to have this band back in my life and like the direction they are heading. My only real complaint so far is that the sets don't seem to have any direction, more just a bunch of songs thrown together. Also seeing my 2 favorite artist share the same stage was one of the happiest moments i've ever had.

PHISH - SAVE THE DATE - A THREE DAY FESTIVAL - 10/30 - 10/31 - 11/1

On the frontpage at phish.com, there's a map of the U.S. with three states currently blacked out (West Virginia, Oklahoma, and Idaho). Looks like they'll be teasing us as to location for a bit. Most realistic rumors are the Coachella site in Indio, CA or Sam Boyd Stadium in LV. It's gonna have to be somewhere warm.
