Dead Confederate

Anybody here heard this band?

I just picked up their debut - Wrecking Ball - and it's really good. The single that's been playing on Left of Center is called "The Rat" and that's what got me into this band.

I picked up their ep a couple of months ago and this past Tuesday is when the full length came out.

It's hard to describe their sound, but if you'd humor me it'd be a cross between Nirvana and the Black Crowes with a dash of Doors.

Check em' out they are really good RAWK.

Yeah they do have a kinda grunge appeal to them, I've heard a few tracks from the album on WOXY and like what I hear, will have to pick up the album.

I am going to see them tomorrow night in Brooklyn, will let you know how it went. Definitely one of my favorite albums of this year.
I'd say they are cross between Nirvana and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club

Re: Dead Confederate

I loved Wrecking Ball to the core. But...
Their new album Sugar is absolutely awful. They changed their whole sound and the songs really make me go wtf were they thinking.

Here's a pretty good article state what they were "trying" to accomplish...

http://www.wreckingblahg.com/2010/06...gust-24th.html

“We were expressing long, drawn-out anguish on Wrecking Ball, but it would have felt repetitive to do it again. They just weren’t the songs we were writing,” vocalist-songwriter Hardy Morris said. “It was a very natural progression to do something a little different.”

Definitely should of stuck with the anguish.
