I peronally like it because I Love the classic and 80-90's rock. I like that on one station I can listen to Stairway, then along come Evenflow. Its a good mix and never boring...

What about bands that are newer but have the classic rock aesthetic like Black Crowes?

It seems to me that if it's something that the majority of the station's demographic would enjoy then they should play it, regardless of when it was produced.

There really isn't an excuse for Creed being played on any sort of radio station though.

I agree. I'd also toss Kenny Wayne Shepherd in there. He doesn't really fit into modern rock playlists but would be right at home on a classic rock station. I'm also fine with new tunes from classic artists making an appearance.

Classic Rock should be 60's & 70's rock.
50's should be oldies.
80's music went into the pop area.
Not that that's bad.
60's & 70's had that raw sound in it's rock.

true but there are too many generations with too many tastes. Those who were teens in the 60's and 70's look at GNR, Nirvana and the sort as their childrens' generation of music. And people who loved grunge hated all things 80's rock and before. And many of the hair-band fans hated grunge for killing their genre off, etc....

I think they should create more classic rock stations to suit individual preferences, much like on internet radio. You can find stations geared to those 50 year olds who still love their ZZ Top and Doors, and stations for the 80's headbanger, and stations for the 90's alternakid, etc...
