Seems I can't go a week without buying at least one CD (it's often more) - whether it's something new, old or used. Multiply that by 22 years. Now that's addicted.

Yikes! And you're saying I have a problem. That's $90 you spent and got NOTHING. Surely it's better to take a chance on something new than to not get anything at all. There's a ton of great artists on emusic. Expand your scope. Try something in jazz, classical or ambient for when you're studying or times when you just want to relax. Get some comedy, try some blues, try something...

anyway, as others have said: i do anticipate certain new releases, but there's always stuff that comes out on tuesday that i didn't think about and/or it's on sale so i know i should pick it up just for drill.

Slipknot - All Hope Is Gone (August 26)

Actually, that might be the only album from 2008 I will have purchased. I can't recall any others. I just don't buy much these days. If I do buy something, it's usually an older release.

I did replace a copy of Blackstreet's Another Level not too long ago though. any suggestions on albums I should be checking for big whoopa?
I have tastes that don't coincide with the mainstream these days. I haven't bought many CD's lately but I love Donna Summer and bought her new CD, Crayons. I also loved Anita Baker so I have most of her CD's. Picked up Chaka Khan's greatest hits album. Anastacia is great singer. She has a rocking voice but doesn't get any airplay in the States.

My Morning Jacket - Evil Urges

Although I went into a store today to buy it, and found it was only available in a cardboard sleeve. Walked out without it. (Maybe I should stop here, and post my rant in the "environmental packaging" topic...)

I've been jonzin' for the soundtrack to the 1981 animated feature "HEAVY METAL". I have a BORDERS gift card but it's out of stock at every store I've been to so I may order it.

When's that coming out?

Probably either the new Shinedown or new Walls of Jericho.

Fall is all I've read.

I'm on a temporary new music hiatus, in order to catch up on all of the music I haven't listened to yet. With as good as With Oden on Our Side was, I'll break the hiatus for Amon Amarth.

Me First and the Gimme Gimmes - Have Another Ball

Aside from that, most of my cd purchases are spontaneous.

Actually I think that is a box of rarities. The reissues are already out.
