New Smashing Pumpkins DVD Doc. and Box Set

According to Smashingpumpkins.com:

SP.com has another small byte of information for you regarding your favorite first Smashing Pumpkins album: plans are currently underway that will lead to the eventual release of a pre-Gish/Gish box set!

What is to be included on here, no one knows for sure but it should be noted that its release is expected to coincide with the Gish tour sometime in 2008...

Expect more information as it becomes available.

Also:

SP.com can finally tease some information about the upcoming DVD release by The Smashing Pumpkins.

The DVD is a documentary chronicling their 12 straight shows at the Fillmore in San Francisco in July and August of 2007.

The DVD will feature footage from those shows and more.

Expect to see the disc appear in stores before the end of the year.

Where the hell is the last show at the metro dvd.. I know it was taped, and they've talked about releasing it a million times.

That is what I want.

I'm hoping this leads to a super mega nice deluxe edition of "Siamese Dream".

Actually, I was kind of hoping we'd get that this year as it turns *gulp* 15. Yikes. I suppose it makes sense that Billy would do things in order, however.

I'm sorry, a Gish tour in '08??

This intrigues me.

Those pre-Gish songs I found online were of pretty good quality...recorded in late '88 to '89. I'd buy an official release of that stuff.

I'm on board as long as there will be a Mellon Collie box set that compiles all demo songs and b-sides. Please, please let there be a good quality version of the song "Autumn Nocturne".

I love the "Demo's '89", "Moon Demo", etcetera stuff...possibly more than "Gish" proper. 'Spiteface' is one of my favorite Smashing Pumpkins songs. Even though it's all been out there for some time, I've been waiting for an official release of it since "Rotten Apples" and the best of DVD came out, so hopefully this is the time.

I tried listening to "Mellon Collie" about six months ago and was pretty disappointed that it didn't hold up well for me at all. Don't know why, but "Gish" and especially "Siamese Dream" still sound amazing to me, but "MCIS" was pretty weak.

how about before releasing a documentary about live shows, you actually do a decent tour in the states to promote your "new" album.

oh wait it's not new anymore, way to not even play a real ny show in a year.

Will only buy the Gish Boxset if it actually has something I don't already have.

IE, demos that have never circulated.

I am more interested in the GISH era shows.

If there are any shows, I wonder if there will be any that include early versions of "Rocket".

I'm assuming ROcket will be saved for the SD era shows.

It still would be nice to hear the version of "Rocket" from 1991/92
