What Are These Holes/Bumps On Back of CD?

I got several new cds from amazon and I noticed they all had these little bumps on the back cover. At first I thought these were cutouts but I'm not so sure. I actually checked a few more cds and they all seem to have these. I've never noticed these before.
They're located on the back on the left hand side where the cd case opens. They do not appear to be drill holes and are not going through the barcode.
If you run your finger over it, you barely feel anything at all.
Does anyone happen to know what these are?

no sorry but i just got 9 new cds from amazon and they all seem to have this on the back of them. some have 1 little thing on the left hand side in the middle and 2 of the cds have 2 of these things each about an inch from the edge of the cd case. they only appear to be on the jewel cases.

Braveheart soundtrack
X&Y, Parachutes and A Rush of Blood...
The Beatles 1
The Fray-How To Save a Life

it's not a big deal really. I was just surprised to see them on so many cases. I'm gonna check the next time I go to best buy and see if any of the new releases have them. I've read a little bit about cutouts and I don't think that's what these are. maybe something else like herpes...

I think if you look at them closely you'll see they're record company logos.

lol no i think that no matter how long and hard i stare at them, they won't turn into record company logos.

Correct. Those aren't bumps on the CD, since the CD is a disc. It's a "bump" on the CD case.

It's braille:

"Do not feel these bumps under penalty of law"

Now you've done it.
