Flight of the Conchords

Just a reminder that Flight of the Conchords' self-titled album is out today.
Pretty much all stuff we've heard on the show, only in polished studio form.
Anyone pick this up yet?
Good stuff? Cool packaging? Hidden track(s)?

I'm a little disappointed there aren't more new songs. Back when the HBO show first started, the band's official site had quite a few free downloads available. Between those and the EP from last fall, I already have most of the stuff on the new disc. Still picked it up, just wish it had more fresh songs on it.

For some reason I thought this was pushed back to a summer release, so I didn't even look for it when I was picking up DVDs on Tuesday.
Guess I'll be making a stop on the way home.

And no, I don't have it, unfortunately.

I have realized I cannot listen to this on any form of public transport for fear of the weird looks!
"Bowie" is superb but I've always loved "Business time".

I'm really surprised they left off 'I'm Not Crying' and 'Bret, You've Got It Going On'. Those were two of the best songs from the first season. If the album was going to be nothing but a glorified soundtrack to the show, it would've made sense to include them. Oh well.
The album's decent, but I could've done without it. As much as anything, I was hoping they'd put the line, 'I trip over my pants, but it's alright, because I turn it all into a sexy dance', back into 'Business Time'. Jerome's delivery on that version is much more hilarious that 'tripping sensuously over my pants.'
Also, anyone think their voices sound a little different on this? I've only been all the way through it once, but it seemed like Jerome's is less deep and Bret uses less falsetto. Maybe it's just me though.

I really dig the studio versions...I think this was a good idea for the first record, since lots of people wouldn't have downloaded the shows soundtrack off the net...the additions and added production elements are very decent and it's just a fun record from start to finish...can't wait for the next season of the show and more new material in the future!

For those who care about such things, the Flight of the Conchords LP debuted at #3 on the charts this week, becoming the highest debuting comedy album ever and the 2nd highest charting ever behind Steve Martin's album. Simply amazing how many Bretaholics and Jemainiacs there are.

Flight of the Conchords - 2016 tour
I've always enjoyed these guys. Seen them twice, the last time they came to town in 2008 and again in 2014 for the Oddball Comedy Festival. During Oddball, they played a few songs I hadn't heard before, so I'm hoping for a new album (despite how short the songs are) to come out for this tour, based on the announcement below. Maybe this will spark a new collaboration for a new show or the often talked about movie.

Re: Flight of the Conchords - 2016 tour
I saw them in 2010 and loved the show. I traveled to Minneapolis for that show, but six years later my wife and I have two kids to deal with. Traveling for shows is much rarer now. Maybe I'll just have to treasure my memories of that first show and enjoy any new material they put out.
