Remasterd vs. reissued cd's

Is there a difference here? for example- Judas Priest- Sad Wings of Destiny is labeld a reissue while their other cd's are remasterd. Is there a difference? If it is remasterd why not just say remasterd like the other ones. And if it's not remasterd, why even reissue it if it's not remasterd?

"Reissued" simply means that the CD is being manufactued again after being out of print for a while.

There's no assumption of quality upgrade in a simple reissue.

Ha ha - there's no assumption or assurance of a quality upgrade in most remasters, either!

Very true. I've bought plenty of those remasters that were no better or in some cases even worse than the original. That is not true in every case but there are enough bad ones that make you think twice about trying to upgrade and just staying with what you already have.
