Songs that Reference a Year in the Title
I was listening to a Fruit Bats album, and I thought to myself this is a pretty good song. (It turned out to be the one listed below.) I got to thinking what other good songs had a reference to a year in the title.
Here's a few I came up with: Summer of '69 - Bryan Adams (a guilty pleasure) The Earthquake of '73 -Fruit Bats '74-'75 - The Connells Blizzard of '77 - Nada Surf 1999 - Prince Any others you can think of? |
There's quite a few. This is just off the top of my head:
Stooges: "1970" Hellacopters: "1995" The Clash: "1977" Rolling Stones: "2,000 Man" (KISS' cover is 1000x better though) |
"1985" by Manic Street Preachers is a great song.
"10 in 2010" by Bad Religion is pretty solid. "Munich Air Disaster 1958" by Morrissey is one of my least favorite Morrissey tracks. Speaking of which, "New York Mining Disaster 1941" by the Beegees is a great song. |
