I've had such a weird journey with this forthcoming release. When I first heard that Timbaland & Timberlake were involved, my first reaction was along the lines of "Oh hell no, she might be going somewhere I can't follow".

But as we approach the release date, I discovered that (horrors of horrors) I LIKE the Madonna/Timberlake duet. That, coupled with tantalizing bits about the other tracks, has myself all primed for the album and (presumably) forthcoming tour.

Terrible cover. In her 30's, Madonna would probably be laughing and making wise-ass cracks about a 50 yo looking like that.

I like the Pharrell song better than the Timberlake song. I guess I'm kinds looking forward to this album as I haven't really liked the recent "world music of the month" albums that she's been releasing recently.

Unless Madonna defines "horse riding" as wrestling a wild stallion into submission and then eating its raw flesh, I'm guessing she didn't get those arms riding horses. Yoga is even more laughable.

Marion Jones' pretty face allowed the mainstream media to ignore that veins like the roots of a sequoia tree were bulging from her awkwardly huge muscles. The fact that there are two pretty awesome boobs hanging between Madonna's shoulders shouldn't distract you from their alarming "male-gymnist-mid-pummel-horse-routine." quality.

Back on topic about the album- I was (and somewhat am) a little scared of the whole timbaland/JT/neptunes productions... but after reading some fair to excellent reviews of the album (after the reviewers were allowed 1 listen in a large listening party), my fears are dwindling and i'm becoming pretty excited about this... perhaps even more-so than the Confessions album (which, in my opinion, was a Madonna album if there ever was one).

4 Minutes is average at best... the best parts are the original and memorable horns and beats. Other than that, it's a JT/Tim song featuring Madonna. The video is great, cant wait for an HD version to come out (possibly an HD-MTV rip).

"Miles Away" sounds amazing and very MADONNA. We've only heard a few seconds of it, but wow. Go to madonna.com under Audio and there is a short sample.

The promo tour starts April 30 (so far this is the only confirmed date) in NYC. Of course tickets will be limited and nearly impossible to get (most likely NOT for sale, but will be issued through contests, to the press, etc. etc.). The venues will likely be small (approx 2,000 capacity).

I'm most excited for the full rumoured Fall 2008 tour. Madonna typically runs her tours from May-September (give or take), but a Fall tour would be fun and interesting (except the weather which makes traveling to multiple shows MUCH less fun.) Hopefully Stuart, the mastermind behind her brilliant remixes (Confessions Tour's Like A Virgin and Live to Tell, for example) will return as he has unfortunately confirmed he will NOT be joining her for the promo tour.

This is a going to be a very exciting year.

Now come on warner, and get those past tours out on BluRay ASAP! (even DVD would suffice if they finally release the Reinvention Tour)
