Please Recommend some 50s, 60s, & 70s Soul
Hello all: I really like Sharon Jones, Etta James, and early Ike & Tina. Could you please recommend more artists male and female? Thanks!

I'll also add:
Ray Charles (the Birth Of Soul box is great!)
Sam Cooke
Marvin Gaye
Leroy Hutson/Natural Four
Isley Brothers
And for modern stuff with a retro sound:
Lewis Taylor
Van Hunt
dbClifford
TheBus, based on your tastes, I highly recommend you check out some Lewis Taylor. Probably the easiest to get your hands on is Stoned, though IMHO his masterworks are Lewis Taylor, Lewis II and the surprisingly rock-oriented The Lost Album.
And this guy is probably making the most interesting music to me right now:

No contract, no label, just some kid from NYC making amazing music. Reminds me of Lewis Taylor-style singing/songwriting with D'Angelo production.

Stax Rec's are my favorite & you'll want James Brown Star Time for sure.
Boxed Sets are great (& frequently OOP), try your library:
The R&B Box
Beg Scream & Shout: The Big Ol' Box of '60s Soul
Atlantic R&B Box Set
King R&B Box Set
Can You Dig It? The '70s Soul Experience
The Motown Box
The Philly Sound: Kenny Gamble, Leon Huff And The Story of Brotherly Love
series (don't know if this was ever boxed or not) late 70's
Soul Hits of the 70s: Didn't It Blow Your Mind!
