The poll to end all polls: Unknown Pleasures or Closer?

Confusion in her eyes that says it all, she's lost control.

Unknown Pleasures for me!

I like that Nine Inch Nails song, so I voted for it.

(Sorry, we're not all really old like you).

Closer is a much better film than Unknown Pleasures. Plus, it's got Natalie Portman playing a stripper, so my vote goes to Closer.

I think Kyra Sedgwick is hot. You know what I'm voting for.

BTW, suggestions for future polls (assuming this one doesn't end all polls.):

Horses vs. Easter
Washing Machine vs. A Thousand Leaves
So vs. Us
II vs. III
Self Titled vs. Ver. 2.0
Blue vs. Clouds
Tapestry vs. Music
Touch vs. Solace
The Bridge vs. Rollercoster
The Scream vs. Join Hands
Boy vs. War
A.M. vs. Being There
Garlands vs. Treasure

I think I might side with Unknown Pleasures a bit more. Disorder, Shadowplay, New Dawn Fades, She's Lost Control among others seals the deal. They're both good, though.

This is about Joy Division albums, by the way. Sorry if I broke the secrecy contract.

I love both albums but I have to go with Unknown Pleasures. I don't understand why so many people prefer Closer; I mean it's a great album (one of my favorites) but compared to Unknown Pleasures...

I like Closer much more. I mean, MUCH more. I just like the keyboard flourishes and how a lot of it seems sparser, less dense. "Isolation" makes me wanna jump around. "Decades" makes me want to dive in the bottom of a well and eat Zoloft and I'm a happy-go-lucky person

At first I thought we were talking about Peter Gabriel, especially since So and Us both kinda suck.

But Peter Gabriel II kinda sucks also. Definitely the least of his early stuff.

I agree. I think 3 (Mercury), 4 (Geffen) and 1 (Atlantic) are his best albums. 2 (Atco), So, and Us don't do much for me.

Horses vs. Easter
Horses. Patti Smith wins. I don't know what the other is.

Washing Machine vs. A Thousand Leaves
A Thousand Leaves. I don't know what it is but WM wasn't that great of a Sonic Youth album, was it?

So vs. Us
Somalia vs. the US? We know who won that one. Still, I pick the US

II vs. III
Generally the sequel will be better than the third part. Proof: Lord of the Rings, Star Wars (either), Spider-man, X-Men, PotC... The list goes on.

Self Titled vs. Ver. 2.0
I assume 2.0 is some remix album or possibly a Pet Shop Boys album. I will take every self-titled album over 2.0. Unless we're talking about Kraftwerk.

Blue vs. Clouds
I'll take a clear sky over a cloudy one any day. Blue.

Tapestry vs. Music
Music. Who needs carpets?

Touch vs. Solace
Being touched is better than being alone.

The Bridge vs. Rollercoster
Roller"coster" sounds expensive. Bridge. Although it's a boring old ladies card game.

The Scream vs. Join Hands
Munch is better than Hands Across America. The Scream.

Boy vs. War
Oh, I get this one. U2 albums. War.

A.M. vs. Being There
You lost me again. I'd rather be there and not be limited by time.

Garlands vs. Treasure
Cocteau Twins? I pick the second one, it's more valuable
