true... but you really can't dance to most of their music

for the record allmusic also lists Vangelis as "electronica"

Not all electronica has a danceable beat. The previously mentioned Selected Ambient Works from Aphex Twin, for example.

I have no idea who Vangelis is, so that connection doesn't mean much to me.

true - but most 'techno' - yes.

'Blade Runner' was another major film soundtrack he did - wow! I thought you were kidding mndtrp

his album 'Heaven and Hell' is another one of his classics which was used to beautiful effect in the 1980 tv series 'Cosmos' - it's also wound up in strangely quite a few porn soundtracks, as did his music for Chariots (don't ask)
