I didn't help make it any better - HMV's around here had a HUGE promo on - 30 people per store could buy Kanye and 50's album for $12.99 TOTAL for both (that was also the price of either single album). So I went to buy Kanye and got 50 for free.

alright after bashing 50s album, Im back after listening to Kanye's album. Id have to say Im liking this album overall. Never was a big Kanye fan, would rather listen to his production than him rhyming. I didnt like his previous albums, too many skits in between songs, at least this one has no interruptions. Id give it 3.5-4 mics and I gave 50's album 3 mics.

I can see a lot of people dumping on this because it lacks a lot of the bangers that could be found on his first two albums. As I said, this is a more sophisticated album. You can go to College Dropout and Late Registration for your more upbeat production and Graduation for something a bit more chill.

AND THEY’RE OFF: It’s way too soon to call yet, but in early retail reports, IDJ’s Kanye West is in the lead with first-week estimates at more than 700k that has wonderers wondering if the rapper can do 800k. Shady/Aftermath/Interscope’s 50 Cent is in the 550k range with an outside chance at 600k.
KANYE: 750-800,000

Has anyone confirmed if there's different versions of the CD? I'd heard that after the first 10,000 or so pressings, he re-did the drums on 'Stronger' and made other adjustments.

Murakami is very very cool. his work i like a lot..
Although I was disapointed in Kanye's newest video, as it sure likes like a rip of the Justice d.a.n.c.e video with the animation on screen..
REally liking the cd..
Love
Flashing Lights
and
I Wonder.

I also agree that Common's album is worlds better. Common, IMHO, has had 2 classic albums in a row.

Common's last two albums have been phenomenal...and his older albums are almost as good.

I picked this up yesterday, and am quite disappointed. This is the first Kanye West cd I've bought, having only heard the radio singles before. I love "Stronger", but the rest of the album just bored me. I'll give it another listen tonight, but so far, I think I should have just downloaded the single

Sounds like you're one of those people who can back Ye's songs that are designed to be singles, but little else. If you bought the album hoping for 15 songs like "Stronger," then you were setting yourself up for disappointment. I, for one, am delighted "Stronger" is the exception to the overall sound of "Graduation."

Great album. I like every song on it. Barry Bonds feels a bit out of place, but it's still good.
I didn't really like the album the first time I listened to it, but I really 'got' it the second time.
