Ya it's pretty awesome. Rest My Chemistry is just wonderful. I'm going to pick up the vinyl/CD release tomorrow.

I'm liking it so far, not loving it yet.

Couple of standouts for me, not yet sure about The Lighthouse.

Although I'm with you with the "liking...not loving" statement, The Lighthouse was probably one of the best and most unique track on first listening, along with Rest My Chemistry which is the nearest thing recalling the bliss of TOTBL.

I'm enjoying it. I wouldn't say its their best work, but when I turn it on, I think "yep, that's Interpol", and honestly, right now that's good enough for me. I'd rather have this than them deciding to change their sound or do something "experimental" like so many other bands do.

Agree completely. This album has really grown on me quickly. I've been listening non-stop for about 2 weeks and bought it yesterday.

The 2nd half of the album is incredible.

Liking it more each listen. Mammoth probably my favorite but Pioneer is the standout.

The Bus 07-12-07 06:17 AM

Wow, I completely forgot this came out two days ago.

* runs to record store *

Hollowgen 07-12-07 08:20 PM

wow. i guess i should have paid more attention, then i'd know that 19.99 for the "deluxe" edition was a rip off. the local BB had it advertised in-store as "CD/DVD". instead, i paid 10 more dollars for a freakin poster? wow, i haven't felt this ripped off since i bought björk's "medulla" special (WITH POSTER) edition.

It's an absolute corker. Not as immediate as Antics and demands a bit more effort from the listener but the rewards are there if you're willing to put the effort in with repeated listens. Nearly all of the great albums are like that though, aren't they?

Stand out tracks for me are Pioneers, Threesome & Chemistry but there are only really two tracks that haven't 'got' me yet - All Fired Up & The Light House.

I'd go so far as to say that it's my album of 2007 already.

Utter shit? Somebody order a taxi for that guy -screwy-

slymer 07-13-07 11:34 AM

I've only really listened to it as background music so far. I've been way more into the other two new releases I picked up this week. Against Me! - New Wave, and Bad Religion - New Maps of Hell. I'll check it out this weekend.

I have to say, initial first impression: it didn't do much for me... I know it's unfair to say this, but nearly all the songs sound the same. Will give it another spin, to see if my opinion changes.

I'm with G. But I will take you guys at your word and give it a few more spins. I'd be surprised if I ended up liking it more than Antics.

The lyrics to Threesome are silly.
