Hey, I just got the 16GB ipod touch two weeks ago for my birthday, so I can finally play along with one of these threads. Currently, it's just about full- half with random stuff I had on my computer from emusic and other sources, and half with CDs I imported.

1. Allison Moorer - Dying Breed; good but depressing song to start with. She's channeling a very dark Hank Williams here. "No one grows old, in this household. We are a dying Breed"

2. Allison Moorer - Louise Is In the Bluemoon; Hey is this on shuffle? Different album, so it must be. More drunken characters all meeting in a bar called the Bluemoon.

3. Regina Spektor - Oedipus; Beautiful and quirky.

4. His Name Is Alive - Wake Up Jin; Part of a free download that was sampler of their limited "Cloud Box" set. A very quiet, 8 minute experimental ambient track which only comes alive in the last 15 seconds.

5. They Might Be Giants - Counterfeit Faker; From "Long Tall Weekend". Oddly country sounding song by TMBG.

6. Aphex Twin - Come to Daddy (Mummy Mix); Definitely knew this was Aphex Twin as soon as it started. Weird samples in this one, not as cool as the "real" Come to Daddy track, but what is?

7. Bob Dylan - Call Letter Blues; Track from his Bootleg Series. Nice blues track by Bobby.

8. Allison Moorer - Is It Worth It?; Oh, I'm sensing a trend here. Great dark track about the assessment of a relationship and knowing it's got to end for everybody's own good. "Is it worth the price we are paying/ Is it worth the damage being done/ Is it worth the both of us staying/ If you think so, then you're the only one."

9. The Detroit Cobras - Bye Bye Baby; great rocking cover of a Mary Wells song. 60 sounds and Detroit rock. Sweeter than any I know.

10. Kimya Dawson - Better Weather; odd, anti-folk, story-telling. Infectious and compelling.

11. Kristin Hersh - Sparky/ A Loon/ Velvet Days; Live at Noe Valley Ministry. Very nice solo performance.

12. Foo Fighters - Home; last track from their latest album. Beautiful ballad.

13. They Might Be Giants - Reprehensible; Brilliant, little known track by TMBG about a man who has done terrible things throughout history in his past lives and only remembers when he's asleep.

14. Adrienne Young - My Sin Is Pride; Country singer with a nice voice. I'm not as familiar yet with this album (Art of Virtue) as I am with her other two, but this is a nice track I'm hearing for the second time.

15. Adrienne Young - Bonaparte's Retreat/My Love Is In America; another two-fer to end my list. This one's a rollicking, instrumental fiddle reel. Marvelous.
