Idea for CD Commentaries - make video!

Everybody seems to love Commentaries on DVD's, so why wouldn't music lovers appreciate commentaries on their favorite CD's?

To accomplish this, the artists in question would videotape themselves with their album playing in the background, and then they would proceed to talk about each song as it comes up.

the vh1 show classic albums is great for this where they talk about each song, the impact of the song, play clips or even better is when they sperate the sound and share just one instrument, or the vocals without music. it would be cool to get something like this for albums not deemed classic.

even liner notes for each song in the booklet would suffice though, i dont think we need a full scale audio commentary though. would be cool but i dont see that happening.

I'm a vinyl man, personally.

I'm all for a commentary on the White Album, especially "Revolution No. 9."

I always thought this is what the liner notes should be for.

I guess you don't mind that Dolby Digital (ac3) can have the same compression artifacts as mp3 files. It's not as easy to notice, but it can occur.
