That sucks. They were a really good, fun band. Last album sucked though.

The Darkness is over but the four remaining members are still together and will be releasing a new album, just under a different name. We already knew that Justin Hawkins had left and the others were keeping the band alive, the only new information is that they are changing their name.

Whether it will suck or not is the big question.

but wasn't Justin Hawkins the reason they had a hit? It was his voice. Not the music necessarily.

It was both. Actually, I'd say it was the songs combined with Justin's personality. With a song title like "Get Your Hands Off Of My Woman Motherfucker" and songs like "Growing On Me" (about head lice), you can't really go wrong.

To many people, his voice was a big problem.

I hear the new vocalist is the bassist, who IMNSHO, is the most lame dude in the band. But, we'll see, I guess. If it lasts.

The industry is still trying to push an 80's glam metal revival but they can't get it to take hold, thank god.

Just a heads up..."Growing On Me" is actually about genital warts.

Isn't it all up to speculation? Some interviews I heard "warts", others "lice".

Funny, I always thought "Growing on Me" was about crabs, but regardless, I always felt fairly certain that it was about the genital region. Laff...

Didn't the first bassist (with the 70's porno 'stache) leave the band (or get fired) before the singer quit?

Didn't really hear their second album, but sure enjoyed the first. Good to hear some fun rock that's not too damn serious. That's why I love The D.

Shame, they were one of the best most fun bands to come along in a long time. They brought back real rock on the radio in the middle of all the no-talent boring Nicklebacks, Stains, Audioslaves, Chevelle's ect ect...

All Darkness fans should check out a group called Wig Wam.
