Patty Griffin: Children Running Through
Let's talk Patty Griffin! She's got a new CD coming out on Tuesday (2/6): Children Running Through. I was just at Barnes & Noble and picked up a free 3-song sampler that includes one song from the new album. Sounds great!
I've been a fan since her fantastic, all-acoustic Living With Ghosts. Since then, she's released Flaming Red, 1000 Kisses, Kiss in Time, and Impossible Dream. My favorite is still that first one, but they all have their great moments.
Her followup to Living With Ghosts was originally supposed to be another acoustic CD called Silver Bell, but A&M Records balked, and the CD went unreleased. I believe some of the tracks ended up in different form on future albums, though, including one of my favorite Griffin songs, "Makin' Pies." I heard Silver Bell did leak out a few copies, though, and I sure would love to track one down...
Anyone else have anything to say?

Well, I'll give this one more little boost, since it's release day. This CD is definitely worth checking out. Great songwriter. In fact, here's a Patty Griffin forum with a terrific subforum devoted to interpreting her songs...
