Coldplay - Singles Box Set (on vinyl!!)
From fan club ezine:
We're pleased to announce that, for the first time, all 14 of Coldplay's singles are to be collected together in a box set. 'The Singles 1999-2006' will be released internationally on March 26th.
Each single will be pressed on heavyweight 7-inch vinyl and sleeved in its original artwork. The box set will contain five singles which have never previously appeared on 7-inch vinyl. They include 'The Blue Room EP', Coldplay's rare first release for Parlophone in October 1999, which has been split into two 7-inch singles. The box set will also feature the international singles, 'Don't Panic', 'God Put A Smile Upon Your Face' and 'What If', none of which were released in the UK. It will also include 'The Hardest Part', which was previously only available as a download in the UK.
Please note that this collection will only be released as a 7-inch vinyl box set, there will not be a CD release. For full track details, please go to www.coldplay.com.
We'll be in touch with presale info for the box set as soon as we have it.
Oh, and if you haven't checked out Coldplay's new, improved MySpace profile, head to www.myspace.com/coldplay, where you can whet your appetite for the box set by checking out one of the tracks from 'The Blue Room EP'.

Cool. I'll definitely be checking it out. And I think I'll actually use it (the vinyl) to play on my record player. Unless a similar collection becomes available for CD.

Seems neat, though I feel like they could wait another LP or so before releasing a 'greatest hits'
Also, you can get the Blue Room EP on emusic.com if you're into that kind of thing.

I really don't see a point to this, like say the die hard fans like myself who have all the cd-singles, will there be any b-sides that will be exclusive to this box set release?

Plus, it does include 'The Hardest Part', which was previously only available as a download in the UK.
I don't have a record player, and thanks to eMusic and AOMP3, I was able to get MP3s of the songs, but this would be cool to have anyway.
