I'm not looking to tap my foot to each song here but the songs on the last half are structured pretty terrible (with the exception of the last track "Zero-sum" - great closer).

With that said though, The beginning of the end, Capital G., My Violent heart, & The Warning make this disc worth a purchase - some very solid stuff there and actually some of his BEST.

Don't get me wrong, I am somewhat dissapointed with this album but I'm sure many of you would call me crazy for saying that I think "The Slip" is a better effort.

Still, I'm sure I'll be spinning this one for a while but as soon as I'm able, I will dig into Ghosts I-IV - although all insturmental, I did DL the free pack today and will be listening to the first 9 tracks - I like maybe a handful of other NIN fans; love his instrumental stuff.

And last but not least - I'm so damn happy he keeps pumping out the albums - I'm actually gratefull for it seeing as how there is so much shit music being released left and right.
I'm am a huge NIN fan and I mean HUGE and I love everything Trent has done. The reason I say this is because I'm biased.

Year Zero will grow on you, just give it time. I actually think that The Slip is a better album as well, but I love YZ. I was disappointed in YZ at first but I've really come to love it. MAybe it takes seeing the songs live but once I really started to dig into the album it just sort of clicked in a way that it hadn't before.

And if I were you, I would just go ahead and buy Ghosts. You can find it pretty cheap and it's 36 really great instrumental tracks. If you like Trent's intrumental stuff from the previous NIN albums then Ghosts is an absolute must.

That's funny - Year Zero hit instantly with me, especially everything up to and including "My Violent Heart". The Slip on the other hand is still growing with me but wasn't a knockout when I heard it.

Well, I guess taking your advice seeing as how your a die-hard fan did pay off - it has REALLY grown on me. The weird thing though is that it took longer than any other album (but that's a good thing).

It's a wild listen and definitely his most outrageous stuff - it's pretty creepy to listen to at times but never comes off as corny.

I have a lot of respect for this band. They are very talented and this shit can't be easy to pull off.

That's so weird. I think "With Teeth" is the best thing NIN has ever done. It's all subjective though.
