The first one worth mentioning that came to my mind is:

"We Are The Living" from Sananda Maitreya's Angels and Vampires album. (He used to be known as Terence Trent D'Arby years ago.)

"The Word" on Prince's 3121 is also very nice.

Funnily, I can't think of anything else from 2006 that I have really loved. But then again, a year is usually too little time for me to get to know my new albums...
