See, now I can't take your list seriously becasue both LedZep's "DVD" and Queen's "We Will Rock You" KILL the ones you picked.

I was just listing what I owned, not the best ever. I agree 100% on Zep. I picked up The Song Remains the Same years before the superior set was available and have been meaning to upgrade for quite some time. I don't know too much about We Will Rock You, but I love Live at Wembley and have a tough time imagining I'd prefer anything else.

Wembley is a much "bigger" show, but WWRY just, um, rocks more. It's taken from their tour for The Game album (their last truly good album), at their absolute peak and is loaded with nothing but their best songs, played with a fire, intensity and passion that they never again matched. And the dvd has an amazing DTS track.

Therion: Celebrators of the Becoming - This thing defines how bands should do DVD sets: 4 good quality DVDs and 2 CDs for $40?

Queensryche: Operation Livecrime - Captures them at the height of their career, and in rare form at that.

Rush in Rio - just a phenomenal set from those guys.

Opeth: Lamentations - perfectly captures Opeth doing both their mellow acoustic and death metal sets

For me:

Big Country--Final Fling
Brian Setzer Orchestra--Live in Japan
Stray Cats---Rumble in Brighton
X---Live in Los Angeles
The Cure--Trilogy
Morrissey--M in Manchester
Siouxsie and the Banshees--Seven Year Itch (Siouxsie's voice is not that geat, but there's some awesome performances of great songs)

New Order--5 11 (their live version of "She's Lost Control" kicks ass absolutely and wa worth the price of the DVD.)

"Stevie Ray Vaughan: Live From Austin, TX" is great. More outtakes from this set can be found on the dvd in the "SRV" boxed set.

Couldn't agree with you more about New Order.

Re: SATB's "Seven Year Itch", can you tell me what city this was filmed in> I saw the NYC show and it was just terrible. Everything about it. It was my first and only time seeing Siouxsie with the Banshees. Just two years earlier I saw her with the Creatures at the 9:30 Club in Washington D.C. and that was a FANTASTIC show!

Opeth - Lamentations

Just got this and it is truly excellent. If you haven't listened to Opeth you should.

From: a mile high, give or take a few feet

Isis - Clearing the Eye
Excellent band, not exceptionally thrilling dvd. Just them playing a small club, with some extras thrown in. Sounds awesome, though.

Porcupine Tree - Arriving Somewhere
Awesome group, excellent sound. Recorded on their 2005 US tour.

Nine Inch Nails - And All That Could Have Been
Another one with great sound and visuals. A definate must if you enjoy this band. A dvd of their With Teeth tour should be coming out early next year as well.

Roger Waters - The Wall (Live in Berlin)
Still one of my favorites to throw in. The spectacle of it all is amazing.

Sorry I didn't respond earlier---I hadn't checked this thread in a while. That show on the DVD was in London, The Shephards Bush Empire, 7/10/2002. Her voice is kind of shot, but the rest of the band sounds great, and it's a very well-filmed and edited concert, anamorphic widescreen. Just look at it as nostalgia---her voice didn't sound that great in 1978, either

My picks, some are more documentary, but still contain great footage:
"Heartworn Highway"
"Be Here to Love Me: A Film About Townes Van Zandt"
The Last Waltz
Standing in the Shadows of Motown
The Commitments
Pavement: Slow Century
Bob Dylan: Don't Look Back
Ween: Live in Chicago
The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus
Elvis: The 68 Comback Special
Pixies Acoustic Live in Newport (I was at this show)
John Prine - Live from Sessions at West 54th
The Beatles: Anthology
Render: Spaning Time with Ani Difranco
Van Morrison: Live at Montreux
Message to Love: The Isle of Wight Festival
The Complete Monterey Pop Festival
Festival Express
and the previously mentioned Talking Heads, Wilco, and Zepplin dvds. Also the Austin City Limits Series is great; I've been Netlixing those. Still keeping my fingers crossed that they will release the Tom Waits performance.

Ben Folds Five - Complete Sessions at West 54th
Roy Orbison - Black & White Night (has alot of famous rock stars, though kinda hard to make out their individual voices, skip the DVD-A / SACD package if it saves you money)
No Doubt - Live in the Tragic Kingdom (pretty much their Tragic Kingdom album live + a few tracks from their pre-famous past and a sublime cover)
Billy Idol - Vh1 Storytellers (Great to see Steve Stevens playing all the songs on a classical guitar)
The Corrs - MTV Unplugged (really nice use of 5.0 - no 0.1 track)
Palm Director's Series - Mark Romanek (my fav. from the 2nd box - if you're into alot of videos that's been on MTV)

Forgot to add in:
Neil Young & Crazy Horse - Rust Never Sleeps (solo neil young and then with crazy horse for second half, still haven't seen heart of gold though, so that might be better)
