Kanye West pouts onstage at MTV Europe Awards

In a tirade riddled with expletives, Kanye said he should have won the prize for his video "Touch The Sky," because it "cost a million dollars, Pamela Anderson was in it. I was jumping across canyons."

Here is a little press time he did after the show:

So after freaking out the audience with his candid comments, he put in some face time with the press corp. He told them he was upset because he had "the best video."

"I haven't seen (the Justice and Simian video). Possibly it could have been quite good but no way better than 'Touch The Sky.'

"That is complete bullsh*t, I paid a million. Obviously it's not all about the money, but the response it got transcended everything, it really made great TV.

"It took a month to film; I stood on a mountain; I flew a heliocopter over Vegas. I did it to be the king of all videos and I wanted to walk home with that award."

Here's what he said about the Justice and Simian win: "That was some spread the love bullsh*t. 'Oh everyone should have an award.' Please press people, print 'Kanye says f*ck that!'"

"It's the best video I've ever seen"
"Have you seen the video that won?"
"No..."

Youtube's got a version of the whole thing up, but you have to listen through French commentators.

What kind of classless, spoiled **** do you have to be to come on stage during someone's thank you speech to proclaim that you should've won? Unless the ordeal was some kind of inside joke that was set up beforehand, I think Kanye just answered that question.

I guess Kanye didn't feel as if he had enough press. Wouldn't surprise me if J v. S didn't go along with it to get their name in the press too.

This has to be a stunt, right? We all know he's a douchebag, but can he really be that bad?

Please, have you ever read an interview with him? To hear him tell it, he believes that he is the most important artist in music (if you can call it that) of all time. I have read several interviews with him and after some of his quotes, you wait for the wink or the interviewer mentioned a sly smile, laughter, something...but the asshole is serious. He truly believes he is one of the most important people in the music industry...ever. Glad I'm not a hip-hop/rap fan. Cocky rock stars can be bad enough.

What a scrote. Kanye, you'd have been better off spending that mill on fixing your fucking teeth, baleen lips.

My favorite line from that article:

"It didn't get any nominations, but it's one of the most memorable videos of the year for me," he told AP.
Of course it's one of the most memorable videos for you... you were in it!!!! My camcorder footage from Vegas this year is pretty memorable to me, but I don't think it should win any awards!

Kanye and his ilk are ruining (or have already ruined) popular music as we know it.

I really like Kanye's music but his neverending barrage of stupid stunts is quite tiring.

He's done this before a couple years back, hasn't he?

Get over it Kanye. It's just a stupid music video award.

Reminds me of when Old Dirty Bastard interrupted Shawn Colvin during her acceptance speech for Song of the Year at the Grammy Awards. Security should have tackled him.

What does Kanye's comments have to do with rap or r&b in general?

We are the Your Friends might have had a smaller budget but it is more creative. Much more creative.
