Good, longer recent SY songs:
Rain on Tin : 7:56
Dripping Dream: 7:46
Pink Steam: 6:57
I'm with you on The Diamond Sea. I usually just move on once the vocals end around the 7-9 minute mark.

Pink Steam is a great song.

The Cure's album Disintegration has many longer songs.

Only one over 9 minutes. A couple close to that, so I'll just post the over 9 minute song.

Cure - "The Same Deep Water as You" – 9:18

Interesting. I've never heard the radio edit before. I normally don't have the patience to sit through prolonged noise, but I can't remember ever turning off that song before it finished. I don't have the song timing memorized, but there are moments that are quite pretty in that tune.... not sure if it happens before or after the noisey stretch.

3 pages and no mention of Maggot Brain?! by Funkadelic (9:35)
If I was a heroin user this would be the song I shoot up to. Such a sad a depressing song but yet I feel good when I listen to it as if completing it helps me get something off my chest.

Is the studio version the one you're talking about? I still haven't heard it yet. Only heard the live version of it on "One Nation Under A Groove".

The album version is ten minutes long but I love the alternate mix version which is 9 minutes.

Oh and I can't believe I forgot (not just) Knee Deep also by Funkadelic coming in at a whooping 15:21 minutes boogie till you drop.

Damn, completely forgot that one, yet somehow remembered Parliament's "Funkentelechy". I'd switch that one out for "Maggot Brain" in a heartbeat (live or studio). Eddie Hazel vs. Michael Hampton... I'd have to give the edge to Hazel.
