Art Brut, Genius or what...
Just come back from the We Are Scientsists/Art Brut/Spinto Band show at the Fillmore.
I've seen both spinto band and was live, had never seen Art Brut, they had the most stage presence of any band I've seen in an age.. Seriously I've not had that much fun at a show where I knew not one song of the band since the Cat Empire.

Lucky! I love Art Brut, though my only experience of them is from their album "Bang Bang Rock & Roll" which... I believe is their only one out so far?
It's so different and so great... I'm glad to hear they're enjoyable live too.
If you're interested, I seriously recommend picking up their album. You'll get plenty of great songs, plus, "My Little Brother" is one of the catchiest songs in the history of the world.

what's amazing about the album is that the tone is very humorous and even though the instrumentation is stripped down to the 'basics', the songs are memorable. Here in DC 'We are Scientists' aren't part of the bill

They're a fun band. Even if their total lack of pretense is in reality, calculated and pretentious, it's still a refreshing change.

I picked up the album at the show, and the mini ep they have with them doing a WAS song and WAS doing an Art Brut song.
they have a very strong sound and it translated perfectly last night in the Fillmore.
Their sound i don't think would work all that well in a smaller venue, but the fillmore was great.

i enjoyed art brut when i saw them a few months back, but i can only listen to about 4-5 songs MAX on their album before it gets very annoying and repetitious. the "joke" isn't funny anymore after that many songs.

If you liked the first Art Brut album, I think you will like this one also..I mean it's more of the same but enjoyable I think. It's not something that I will keep relistening to though probably.
