Numanoid must have tripped one of digi's Madonna-defamation sensors. They are strategically placed throughout the DVDTalk forums to alert him of anything negative posted about the pop superstar.

I kid, I kid. :)

Anyway, back on topic. If you could go back in time and save just one person, who would it be? Well, obviously it would be Aaliyah, but explain why. In 250 words or less, please.

Bugg 10-04-06 07:09 PM

Aaliyah died for our sins.

Giantrobo 10-04-06 10:00 PM

It's always bad when a pretty girl dies. :(

Of course, it's obvious that Aaliyah's death was a direct outcome of the amount of talent she exhibited. ;)

Now you're onto something. Maybe Madge saw Aaliyah as the main threat to her crown as world-domineering pop-princess/dancer/singer/writer/producer and organised to have her 'dealt with..."

And don't even get me started on each's illustrious acting career!

I *knew* there was something fishy about Aaliyah's death.

rimber 10-05-06 04:36 AM

You'd have to ask Geoff, but I'm fairly certain DVDTalk has more than 220 members.

And 220 posts doesn't count if 219 of them are from you.

UAIOE 10-05-06 12:00 PM

Well, a quick glance at the bottom of the main forum page shows this forum has over 56,000 members.

If they are all active is another story, but that is still more than 220.

UncleGramps 10-05-06 12:24 PM

As much as I love this thread, I think it needs to be moved to the new Aaliyah Talk subforum.

I was being facetious. :)

Lee Harvey Oswald 10-05-06 05:41 PM

It's pronounced: A-Lee-Yuh

But no, I no longer mourn her death. I no longer mourn Joe Strummer's death either, who is my favorite dead musician. I wish he was still alive creating music, but I don't "mourn" his death.

I thought it was sad at the time, even though I hate the genre she was in.

zombiezilla 10-05-06 05:58 PM

Then why in the hell didn't she (or her parents) spell it Aliyah? The "double a" is stupid.

You're perhaps the most entertaining Italian since Roberto Begnini. You climb over our opinions much the way he climbed over seats at his Oscar(R) acceptance speech. Hurrah, signore!
