90s Alternative Mix

I want to make a mix cd of 90s alternative rock songs.

Here's what I have so far...

Blind Melon- No Rain
Cranberries- Zombie/Dreams
Stone Temple Pilots (I know what song I want, forgot the name)
The Offspring- Self Esteem/Come Out And Play
Radiohead- The Bends/My Iron Lung
The Verve- Bittersweet Symphony
Soundgarden- Black Hole Sun

If you can name any other great songs that fit this genre, I'd appreciate it.

(try not to debate on what's "alternative rock" blah blah blah)

I love them, but the Bends and MIL aren't exactly definitive of that genre. It's Creep that should be on there.

And the STP song you want is Plush.

Wouldn't Man in the Box be better representative of an AIC song of that era?

That song bugs me and Dirt came out less than 2 years later, so no.

Actually, come to think of it, really the only thing I ever liked by AIC was Dirt.

What? That song "bugs you", so it's not representative of the band during that era? Sorry man, but that doesn't work.

DVD Josh: The original poster only asked for some song suggestions, jeez...
The title of the thread is not "DVD Josh's trendiest 90's tunes." I notice alot of negativity in all of your posts. Don't worry, other people's lists are just as valid as yours. Oops, nevermind, you didn't post one.

Ok, back on topic, I'd suggest...
Anything from "Modern Life Is Rubbish" from Blur
Anything from "Laid" by James (various others are excellent as well)
Morrissey had quite a few tunes/albums to choose from.
Anything from either of the first 2 Electronic LP's, if you like synth-ier stuff.
There are many Cure tracks to choose from as well.
Catherine Wheel "Black Metallic"
Pretty much anything from Oasis, though DVD Josh will probably flash his badge and blow his whistle, saying that "Wonderwall" is the only acceptable tune.

I absolutely love this song, but it actually came out in 1989 (aka "the '80s").

Some good suggestions here... I would also add:

Urge Overkill "Sister Havana" or "Positive Bleeding"
Dishwalla "Counting Blue Cars"
Deep Blue Something "Breakfast at Tiffany's"
Collective Soul "Smashing Young Man", "Gel" or "Shine"
Eve 6 "Inside Out"
Goldfinger "Here in Your Bedroom"
Fastball "The Way"
Barenaked Ladies "One Week" or "If I had a Million Dollars"
Harvey Danger "Flagpole Sitter"
Semisonic "Closing Time" ("One last call for alcohol.")
The Verve Pipe "Freshmen"
Blur "Boys and Girls" or "Song #2"
Refreshments "Banditos" (You know "Give your ID to the border guard/It says Captain Picard... of the United Federation of Planets")
Sponge "Plowed" or "Molly"
Toadies "Possum Kingdom"

I think Sweater Song or Say it Aint So is more 90's alt by weezer, Buddy Holly has a totally different sound
You should also throw in Beastie Boys Sabatoge

Screaming Trees - Nearly Lost You
and
any GreenDay off Dookie fits the mold

Nice change of pace
Alice in Chains - Dont Follow

Sinead O'Connor, Nothing Compares to You was like '88 or so
