Live: I MEAN BUYING THEIR ALBUMS LEGALLY is a real pain.

I have learned long ago to search using album names for Live.

Ever since I first heard the name about a year ago, my most hated band name has been Goblin Cock. The shit is just gross.

I don't even know if you could call this a band, but the name Gnarls Barkley is absolutely horrendous.

Bleh, I used to listen to several bands on that list. Funny how they're mostly of the pop-punk variety.

Here's a new list, the Top 25 Most Ridiculous Names in Rock Band History. A few overlaps with the previous list, of course.

HOOTIE AND THE BLOWFISH
Why it's ridiculous: In a word: "hootie." In four: "hootie," "and," "the" and "blowfish." We now know from scientific studies performed in 1998 at Cambridge that there isn't a single aspect of Hootie and the Blowfish's name that doesn't invite you, the listener, on a subconscious simian level, to punch each of them in the face until they agree to change it

My favorite band, but I'm surprised "Smashing Pumpkins" didn't make the list.

Stupid nit-picky thing, but the photo of Def Leppard in the Cracked list isn't them. I believe that it is from the VH-1 movie about them. They made both lists of course .

A Flock Of Seagulls should been on the list.

I dig some of the songs liked "Wishing" , "I Ran (So Far Away)" and "Space Age Love Song" but the band name really do suck.

Good list, and entertaining to read. Of course you could add another 500 or so, but I can't disagree with the ones he put on there.

On a more popular side, I always thought "U2" was a dumb band name. But really, most are, regardless of talent, and I've got nothing better.

Actually, it's Godspeed You! Black Emperor now. They moved the exclamation point.

(I like the name personally, but I can see your point.)

Wow, I thought for sure that Nickelback got its name from the fifth defensive back in football. I guess I should have known it was something lame like change at Starbucks.

BTW, check out the worst rapper names while you're there.

Gin Blossoms was always a lame name. I agree on the Alan Parsons Project and every "project" name.

The more i think about it, nearly every band name is horrible. No one is worse than the evil jambands. here are a few more not yet mentioned

String Cheese Incident - the worst name ever
Deep Banana Blackout
Umphreys McGee - my fav band right now but still a bad name
Sound Tribe Sector 9
Disco Biscuits
The Big Wu
O.A.R. - of a Revolution
Ekoostik Hookah

All horrible

Jambands all have terrible names. Lake Trout? Really? That's the best you could do? Disco Biscuits?

The worst "The" names for bands are The Band, The The, and The Music.

Anyone notice the picture of Def Leppard on the linked list is not of them, but likely taken from the movie made about them?
