We're leaving together
But still it's farewell
And maybe we'll come back
To earth, who can tell?

I guess there is no one to blame
We're leaving ground
Will things ever be the same again?

It's the final countdown
The final countdown

Oh, we're heading for Venus and still we stand tall
Cause maybe they've seen us and welcome us all, yeah
With so many light years to go and things to be found
I'm sure that we'll all miss her so

It's the final countdown
The final countdown
The final countdown
Oh!

The final countdown
Oh, it's the final countdown
The final countdown
The final countdown...

I actually campaigned hard for "Wipeout" by The Safaris, just on the basis that I could hear the entire choir say "Wipeout" in that goofy voice at the beginning of the song.

So many serious responses...the best I could think of: Twisted Sister's "We're Not Gonna Take It" or Phil Collins' "I Don't Care Anymore".

Here are some suggestions:

In the Street by Big Star (aka the theme from That 70s Show)
Hanging out, down the street
The same old thing we did last week
Not a thing to do
But talk to you

Steal your car, and bring it down
Pick me up, well drive around
Wish we had
A joint so bad

Pass the street light
Out past midnight

Ahh......

Hanging out, down the street
The same old thing we did last week
Not a thing to do
But talk to you
You Can't Put Your Arms Around a Memory by Johnny Thunders
It doesn't pay to try,
All the smart boys know why,
It doesn't mean I didn't try,
I just never know why.
Feel so cold and all alone,
Cause baby, you're not at home.
And when I'm home
Big deal, I'm still alone.

Feel so restless, I am,
Beat my head against a pole
Try to knock some sense,
down in my bones.
And even though they don't show,
The scars aren't so old
And when they go,
They let you know

You can't put your arms around a memory
You can't put your arms around a memory
You can't put your arms around a memory
Don't try, don't try

You're just a bastard kid,
And you got no name
Cause you're living with me,
We're one and the same

And even though they dont show,
They scars aren't so old
And when they go,
They let you know

You can't put your arms around a memory
You can't put your arms around a memory
You can't put your arms around a memory
Don't try, don't try

You can't put your arms around a memory
You can't put your arms around a memory
You can't put your arms around a memory
Don't try, don't try
Or you could go political with Pearl Jam's Worldwide Suicide
I felt the earth on Monday
It moved beneath my feet
In the form of a morning paper
Laid out for me to see
I saw his face in a color picture
I recognized the name
Could not stop staring at the
Face I'd never see again

It's a shame to awaken, world aflame
What does it mean when the war has taken over?
It's the same every day in a hell man-made
What can be saved, and who will be left to hold her?

The whole world...
World Over...
Yeah, it's a world wide suicide

The whole world...
World Over
Yeah, it's a world wide suicide

Medals on a wooden mantle
Next to a handsome face
That the president took for granted
Writing checks that others pay
And in all the madness
Thought becomes numb and naive
So much to talk about and
Nothing for them to say

It's the same everyday and the wave won't break
Tell you to pray, while the devil's on their shoulder
Laying claim to the take that soldiers save
Tell them to quit it, the truth's already out there

The whole world...
World Over...
Yeah, it's a world wide suicide

The whole world...
World Over...
Yeah, it's a world wide suicide

Looking in the eyes of the fallen
You got to know there is another, another, another, another, another...
Way

It's a shame to awaken, world aflame
What does it mean when the war has taken over?
It's the same everyday and the wave won't break
Tell you to pray, while the devil's on their shoulder

The whole world...
World Over...
Yeah, it's a world wide suicide

The whole world...
World Over...
Yeah, it's a world wide suicide

The whole world...
World Over...
Yeah, it's a world wide suicide

The whole world...
World Over...
Yeah, it's a world wide suicide

Graduations are a pain in America, and every year they seem to have a graduation ceremony for something stupid, like going from one grade to another. It's silly as hell.

I'm Irish myself, but moved to America before my Leaving Cert. On one of my trips home, me and my cousin went out on the town on results day. Every bar was just packed with Leaving Certs...
