What to do with $50 in itunes GC?

I'm don't own and ipod, but I do have an mp3 player, which I don't use anymore since I got Sirius.

Recently I won $50 worth if itunes GC's - can I download music and put it on a cd? I don't want to download some free apple BS program and only listen to it on my pc.

Thanks.

You could always use the money to try out these "podcast" things that are all the rage right now.

Yeah, sell it to someone who has an iPod or uses iTunes - if you don't have/use an iPod or iTunes, and don't want those Apple programs constantly trying to take over your PC, sell it to someone for like 30 or 40 bucks. There are only a few iTunes-exclusives that are any good anyway.

cheers,

Bear in mind that although you can make a CD, it will be of the same quality of the compressed files (not as good as a real CD). So, if you're going to burn a CD and then create MP3 files of that disc's tracks, you'll essentially be converting from one lossy format to another, so quality will suffer even more.

That might not be a big deal for audio books though.

But.... free is free.

Use it to make some CDs of things that you're on the fence about but didn't want to spend money on. Save your money for actual CDs of something you love.

I second (third, fourth) selling it. I own an ipod, and someone gave me a gift card for Christmas. It was a bigger pain trying to find a way to maximize the amount on the card, without having to enter a credit card number, than it would have been to just sell the thing.
