WARRANT - "Born Again" New Album (Check it out Hair Metal Fans!)
Here's one for you Hair Metal fans who can't stand the all the Nicklebacks, Stains, Seethers, Shinedowns, ect on the radio these days.
I'm a huge hair & glam metal fan and picked this up the other day not expecting much, and wow, it's awesome. All the original 80's members are back with Jamie St James from Black and Blue replacing Jani Lane on vocals. Unlike Warrants last few albums with Jani Lane they didn't try to sound all modern, alternative or grunge... just straight up kick ass head banging hair metal, cheesy lryics, shreading guitar solos, big sing along vocals, crunchy power cords, catchy couruses... everything you loved about those bands, I feel like I'm on the Sunset Strip in 88
Am I the only hair rocker on DVD Talk? I know some of you are out there with your Ratt shirt in the closet!
There's even a video for thier first single on You Tube

I grew up in the 80s so I love this type of music. I haven't heard the new cd yet but I'll have to try to check it out.

The first "single" sounds good - like the Pop-Metal bands circa 1992-93 when grunge was kicking in and the Pop-Metal bands got a little tougher (but still had the pop melodies and catchy hooks). Good stuff.
I'll definitely pick this album up (I was always a fan of Black N Blue anyway).

As much as I love Jani Lane, I think it's best he got replaced, the guy was really going down hill. I'm a big Black N Blue fan too and Jamie St James sounds fantastic in Warrant, the guy is such a rock star. it's a shame because Jani is such a great songwritter and he was a good singer, but he ruined his voice smoking god knows how many packs of cigs a day.
Check out Jani Lane here he looks a mess...

I know many fans of bands can only except the original line ups, but I think it fun to see what it sounds like when guitar player from band X joins band Y. I just saw Ratt with Jizzy Pearl put on a free show here for 4th of July and it was fantastic.
Speaking of Hair Metal, you guys need to check out this new band "Hardcore Superstar" they are totally a mix of LA Guns, Faster Pussycat and Motley Crue (the bass player so wants to be Nikki Sixx) and they don't sound "nu" or "grunge" at all.
Here's one of thier videos and if you click around there's a couple more - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3cB0d8BIBEs
I'm really into the YouTube right now lol

I've been cranking the fk out of this disc for the past few weeks. It is an excellant album and fits in perfectly with the first 3.

ROCK ON!! I just wanted to "bump" this thread and say that this album is STILL in my car CD player 90% of the time. Could be the best rock album of 2006... too bad rock radio sucks and will never play this.

One of my favorite releases this past year. I also had the pleasure of talking to new singer Jaime St.James as well.

Great interview! I host karaoke shows on the weekends and when it's dead and nobody is signing up to sing I always play music videos on the big screen and every week I play the "Bourbon Country Line" video

It is good to see these bands still around, as for the CD though I can only get into the first 3 songs. The rest does nothing for me no matter how many times I listen to it. Anyone that is still into this music and bands like this should check out www.melodicrock.com there are tons of new bands that still make this type of great music. Bombay Black is a band everyone should check out if you like 80's style rock!!
